The Barn at Timber Lane

The things we choose to bring into our home say as much about who we are as the home itself. When working with McIntosh Design, we seek to create warm and inviting spaces that honour both function and form while allowing for your own creative expression in a way that truly honours the surrounding architecture.

The design inspiration for The Barn began very much as a collaboration between the client and myself. When we first began to discuss the direction for the space there were already a few items in place which the client loved that we knew would be staying; and would need to be considered in the overall design scheme to ensure a cohesive feel throughout the property. As the space was originally operating as a barn we chose to build off of that foundation through sourcing traditional pieces which would compliment the intended use of the space as well as it’s location. While having a traditional feel was important we also wanted each room and nook to feel modern and luxurious while still appealing to a wide variety of demographics. To achieve this we used a number of traditional textures such as cotton, linen, and leather mixed with more modern elements like concrete, marble, and steel. The Barn is a collection of traditional living, modern farmhouse, and coastal design woven together to offer a welcoming space that truly exudes lived in luxury.
